‘Despacito’ Tune Becomes the Most Streamed Song Ever

Despacito without a doubt has become the song of the summer and now it has claimed the distinct honor of being the most streamed song in the history of music.

With its infectious sultry rhythm, Despacito by Luis Fonsi featuring Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber has been streamed more than 4.6 billion times on all streaming media outlets according to Universal Music Latin Entertainment.

Apart from being streamed billions of times, the song has also been a blessing for Puerto Rico’s tourism. According to an Argentine news outlet there has been a surge in tourism because of the lyrics “...this is how we do it down in Puerto Rico.” Puerto Rico is currently suffering a serious economic crisis and while this song may not solve their debt problems it is at least bringing awareness to their plight world-wide.
