The City of El Paso is encouraging public input for the design of the proposed Sun City Lights Project featuring Paseo de las Luces on Wednesday, December 14, 2016.

The City of El Paso is seeking community input on design work for the Sun City Lights Project featuring the Paseo de las Luces, the stretch of S. El Paso Street between the Paso del Norte international bridge and the Plaza Theater which serves as the gateway into El Paso from Juárez.

The Sun City Lights initiative aims to define and highlight entrances to the City’s iconic corridors and neighborhoods to create new economic development opportunities by combining public art, urban design, and neighborhood revitalization strategies.

The Paseo de las Luces project would include a signature archway, tree lights, string lights draping the street, improved parking, stalls reserved for food trucks, and parklets – sidewalk extensions that create vibrant public gathering spaces.
