The City of El Paso will be hosting a drive-thru flu shot event at Riverside High School this Saturday, Dec. 19.

The aim is to reduce the number of flu cases that may require hospitalization thereby keeping hospital rooms available for those being treated for COVID and other major illnesses, as well as medical emergencies.

The flu vaccines will be administered free of charge to anyone 6 months and older from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday only in the parking lot of Riverside High, located at 301 Midway. No appointment or insurance needed. Everyone who gets vaccinated will receive a free face mask and stickers while supplies last.

If you can’t make it Saturday or prefer to stay in your part of town, the city offers no-cost flu shots most days of the week at numerous locations city-wide on both a drive-thru and walk-in basis.

The Outlet Shoppes at El Paso is one of those walk-in sites. The city has set up a pop-up clinic in Suite D460 across from Bath & Body Works. It's open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through December 24.

Free walk-in flu shots are also available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Project Vida Westway Clinic, 1713 Banker Rd., Project Vida Northeast Family Practice, 4875 Maxwell Ave., and Project Vida Montana Vista Clinic, 14900 Greg Dr.

Free drive-thru flu vaccinations are available Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Butterfield Trail Air Cargo Center, 301 George Perry, and at the Westside Community Rec Center at 7400 High Ridge Dr.
