2022 Cherry Festival is Father’s Day Weekend – Here’s What to Know if You Plan to Go
Father’s Day weekend is going to be the pits; cherry pits, that is.
Nichols Ranch and Orchards in La Luz, New Mexico is hosting the 2022 Nichols Ranch Cherry Festival over the Father’s Day weekend.
If you’re feeling the need to get out of town for a fun day trip with the family consider taking a road trip to the orchards just outside Alamogordo for the 3rd Annual Cherry Festival, Saturday and Sunday, June 18-19
Eat, Drink, and be Cherry
The festival is all about celebrating the annual cherry crop, so, naturally, it’s all things cherry: cherry pie, cherry cider, cherry jams, and baskets and baskets of just-picked cherries.
Listen to live music, spend some time in the beer and wine garden, have lunch at one of the food booths or food trucks, peruse the wares of arts and crafts vendors, and enjoy the mountain views and fresh mountain air while celebrating the more than 100-year history of red, ripe, and ready to pick cherries grown in the Sacramento Mountains.
Vendors, Live Music, Activities for the Kids
This year they’re expecting over 80 arts and crafts vendors from all over the Borderland and Southern New Mexico, and 20 or so food vendors and food trucks from around the area including El Paso, Alamogordo, and Roswell.
There will be activities to keep the kids entertained, too, like the Runyan Ranch Petting Zoo, and train rides.
