El Paso can lay claim to one of the biggest stars to ever come out of Hollywood - Debbie Reynolds. Debbie was born in El Paso on April 1, 1932. Her family moved on to California in 1939, but Debbie kept coming back to El Paso to visit family who still lived here throughout her life.

A Debbie Reynolds movie is going to be featured this weekend at the International Museum of Art as part of their Mother's Day free movie series. You can catch 'Mother', starring Debbie Reynolds and Albert Brooks. Brooks plays a neurotic sci-fi writer who is trying to get over his second divorce so he decides to move back in with his mom, played by Debbie Reynolds. She is pretty hilarious in this movie because she is just an sweet, but sometimes prickly lady who can't understand what her son is doing with his life.

As with any Albert Brooks movie, there are parts that will have you rolling on the floor laughing, and then there are parts that will have you wiping the tears from your eyes. It is a really good movie, and because it's being shown at the International, you get to see it in a Trost-designed venue. After the movie, check out the rest of the museum for free.
