BREAKING – Reports of Active Shooter Near William Beaumont Medical Center

UPDATE 5:09 PM January 6th -- Congressman Beto O'Rourke's office has confirmed a doctor at the hospital was shot and the shooter then shot and killed himself.

William Beaumont officials have confirmed reports of a shooting at the VA hospital at William Beaumont Medical Center located at 5001 N. Piedras.

Local law enforcement is assisting in the investigation and William Beaumont Medical Center is on lockdown. Officials are encouraging people to avoid the Fred Wilson and Alabama area.

There are no reports of injuries or fatalities at the time. More information coming as it's reported.
