Beyonce fans got a 'punky' surprise when they broke out with the yellow vinyl of the  Lemonade album and instead got an ear full of the Canadian Punk band Zex.

My mother used to work for RCA in Los Angeles and she would tell us the stories of the artists that used to visit the plant and all the things that could go wrong when pressing vinyl as is the case with Beyonce’s latest Lemonade vinyl album.

According to Variety.com Beyonce’s newest yellow vinyl pressing of her album Lemonade somehow ended up being pressed on side A with music by Canadian Punk band Zex.

While there was no explanation given as to how the mistake occurred, the Columbia record label did release the following statement:

“Due to human error at the Celebrate Records plant in Germany, which Sony uses to manufacture vinyl, a small amount of the European run of the Beyoncé “Lemonade” vinyl included music from Canadian punk band, ZEX, on Side A. Beyoncé and ZEX were not aware of or responsible for the mispress. Fans who purchased the vinyl will be refunded and given a replacement copy.   We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.”

While die hard Beyonce fans were disappointed when they first took a listen, I for one would hold on to that vinyl because of its rarity and will probably fetch quite a few dollars in the future. So if you bought one don’t give it up and purchase another one to enjoy Queen Bey’s full Lemonade album on vinyl.
