Ballet Folklórico de México Performing at the Plaza Theatre

Ballet Folklórico, Mexico’s premier dance company will be bringing their tour to El Paso to the Plaza Theatre on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015.

Ballet Folklórico de México was founded by Amalia Hernández in 1952 and has pioneered the traditional art form of Mexican dance and presented it to prestigious stages around the world. Hernández used the beauty of ballet folklorico, tell the story of her native Mexico, from the pre-Colombian civilizations to the early 20th century.

The group which originally started out as an eight-member dance group has expanded to a 50-piece ensemble and has earned more than 200 awards and delighted audiences on almost every continent.
