Auditions Held For National Anthem Singers For UTEP Games

I love a good rendition of the National Anthem, and I've seen quite a few people perform them at UTEP football and basketball games. This coming school year, you or your choir could be performing at UTEP games and all you have to do is audition.

UTEP has put out the call for singers to perform the National Anthem for the upcoming year. Singers and choirs are needed to perform at athletic games held during the 2017-2018 season.

If you want to try out, all you have to do is go to the UTEP Athletics National Anthem Showcase on Saturday, July 22 from 10 a.m. to noon at Memorial Gym in room 120. You need to register by this Thursday, July 20. You need to call or email Andrea Urbina at 915-747-6065 or email her at amurbina@miners.utep.edu.

As much as I love the Whitney Houston blockbuster rendition of the National Anthem, the Billy Joel version from a couple of years ago still brings tears to my eyes. I can't wait to see who sings the National Anthem at this year's UTEP games.
