Another El Pasoan Wins $1 Million With Mega Millions Lotto Ticket

One El Pasoan is one million dollars richer after claiming a winning Mega Millions lotto ticket over the weekend.

On January 28, one lucky El Paso resident became part of the Millionaires Club thanks to a winning Mega Millions ticket.   

It’s exciting to daydream about winning the lottery. For a moment, we can easily imagine solving all our financial problems, paying off debt, renovating our home, along with a million other wonderful ideas.

But while the odds of winning may be against us, one fortunate El Paso resident who has selected to remain anonymous is sitting on top of a $1 million prize jackpot.

According to the Texas Lottery, one winning Mega Millions lotto ticket was purchased in Northeast El Paso at the Northpark Valero, located at 9430 Dyer St.  

The winning ticket matched all five of the white ball numbers drawn (3-16-25-44-55), but not the Mega Ball number (13); either way, the winning ticket won the jackpot of $1 million.

It seems that for the last couple of years, El Pasoans have been scoring big with the Texas Lottery beginning in 2020 when one El Paso resident won a $9 million jackpot in the Texas Lottery.

And then, a year ago in January, Sergio Gonzalez Salcido won the last of the four top prizes worth $1 million to be claimed in the $1,000,000 Golden Riches scratch ticket game. A few months later, in October once again, another El Pasoan Demetrio Ponce won $500 per week for the next 20 years after playing a Texas Lotto Weekly Half Grand scratch ticket.

Interestingly enough, Ponce purchased his winning ticket at the same gas station that issued another winning Lotto ticket 15 years ago. That winning ticket issued the largest sum ever won by an El Pasoan when Martha L. Cuellar won a Mega Millions drawing of $94 million in 2006 at the gas station located at 6390 Alameda Ave.
