Amistad is turning 45, and you can help celebrate by paying it forward at the Donation Drive-Thru Birthday Parade this Friday, April 23, 2021.

El Pasoans are invited to celebrate Amistad's 45 Birthday celebration while helping out some of El Paso’s elderly residents, persons with disabilities, and adults-at-risk.

For the last 45 years, Amistad, a not-for-profit agency, has been serving El Paso and Far West Texas with various social services, including transportation services and programs for some of our community’s most vulnerable residents.

Thankfully, Amistad has continued to provide assistance and relief for community members who have been most affected by the pandemic.

According to Amistad, it has provided COVID-19 transportation for clients who rely on their life-saving medical treatments over the last year. It has also provided utility assistance to over 2,500 families to keep their essential services connected.  And since the vaccine rollout has provided transportation for hundreds of elderly residents to receive their vaccinations.

As the need continues and Amistad celebrates another year of helping to uplift our community, El Pasoans are invited to tomorrow’s Donation Drive-thru Birthday Parade.

No amount is too small or too big – If you are blessed to have enough to share, drive on thru and drop off your monetary donation. Plus, as a thank you, the first 100 donors will receive an Amistad-themed cookie and a promotional goodie bag.

Can’t make it tomorrow? No problem, you can also participate by donating online at projectamistad.org/donate.

All funds will benefit  Amistad’s Client Health and Welfare Fund,  which supports social service programs in the El Paso community. For more information, call 915-532-3406.
