The government might still be shut down as of this writing, but that doesn't mean you don't need to get your taxes filed. Tax season is a really stressful time for everyone, but The AARP Foundation is helping low to moderate income people to get their taxes filed correctly with the IRS.

The AARP Foundation is offering free income tax preparation at various El Paso Parks and Recreation Centers from February 1 to April 12. Any person, of any age, may use the service and you don't need to be an AARP member. Getting your tax return usually takes volunteer tax preparers about half an hour to complete. The service is free, but you can't make an appointment. The service is on a first come, first served basis so getting there early is encouraged.
