A Heavy Rainstorm Couldn’t Stop This Texas Couple From Getting Engaged

We have all heard the phrase, “Rain or shine,” when it comes to a concert, outdoor event, or even a wedding. Well, that was the case when it came time for an El Paso man to propose to his future wife!

This past Saturday parts of El Paso were soaked when a crazy downpour and thunderstorm made their way to our area. My side of town got some good rain and apparently so did the historic Presidio Chapel in San Elizario which was set to be the backdrop for Jesus and Edna’s marriage proposal.

In a video shared to the Instagram account of a local business, All of the Lights EP, you can see a beautiful set up of letters that spell out the words “Marry Me” with light bulbs inside of the sign so they can shine brightly once the sun sets.

Jesus hired the business to help him propose to his girlfriend, Edna. They set up the letters right outside of the historic Presidio Chapel in San Elizario and the photos of the final product look so beautiful! The sun is shining and there is no wind to knock over the letters, however, that didn’t last long!

In another video shared to FitFam El Paso’s Instagram page you see Jesus and Edna make their way to the Chapel while being drenched in rain.

Legit, It was a moment straight out of a romantic movie, where love shines brighter than any storm. It was like the heavens opened up, and love conquered all! I could go on and on but I won't, because I think you get the point, it was a damn beautiful moment that I am so glad was caught on camera!

Despite the relentless rain, Jesus was undeterred from popping the big question to his future wife Edna. Honestly, it is safe to say that the raindrops served as the perfect backdrop for this unforgettable proposal.
