75 New COVID-19 Confirmed Cases in El Paso, Texas
Early on the morning of May 24th, The City of El Paso Department of Public Health has reported 75 new COVID-19 confirmed cases, which brings the total confirmed cases in El Paso, Texas to 2,340.
May 24th COVID-19 Update for the El Paso Area
On May 11th, The City Council unanimously voted to extend El Paso's emergency ordinances till June 10th, 2020. It was also announced that Governor Greg Abbott will delay El Paso's reopening to one week, as requested by El Paso County Judge Ricardo Samaniego and other local elected officials.
El Pasoans are strongly urged to follow safety precautions as the city begins to reopen, along with the rest of the state of Texas. Have some common sense when going out and about El Paso. Even though there has been a drop in cases, that might just mean results have not come in yet. We must continue to practice social distancing as we work to create our new normal in our community.
