This week Dona Ana County Animal Control removed 36 Czech Shepherds from a northern Las Cruces home -- and they are now up for adoption.

Looking for a pup? There are plenty up for adoption anywhere, but Las Cruces now has an abundance of Czech Shepherds that need your help now. Fifteen of those poor pups have already been euthanized due to poor health or behavioral conditions due to living in the harsh conditions.

The owner is in a medical facility and had not been able to care for the dogs for weeks. As some were shipped to shelters out of the city, Las Cruces shelters still have many of the dogs and they are in need of a home.

For information about adopting a pet, call the animal shelter, 3551 Bataan Memorial West in Las Cruces, at (575) 382-0018.
