Dates for the 2017 New Mexico Gross Receipts Tax Holiday have been announced.

Beginning at 12:01 a.m. Friday, August 4, through midnight Sunday, August 6, New Mexicans can save money at the cash register on many back-to items and clothing.

To qualify for the tax break, clothing or shoes must be priced at less than $100 per unit, and school supplies must be under $30 per unit. The price limit for desktop, laptop or notebook computers is $1,000. Related computer hardware must be under $500.

Lay-away plans can also be used to take advantage of the weekend savings provided the final payment on qualified items previously placed on lay-away is made during the gross receipts tax holiday.
