Some intersections around town will be getting new traffic lights. There are a number of intersections in all different parts of town will be getting the lights and other improvements.

The intersections were chosen by El Paso City Council because they don't currently have lights or the improvements yet. One of the intersections is at Resler and Nardo Goodman. There was a accident there less than three years ago. A woman entered the intersection and failed to yield the right of way to another driver. The resulting accident ended in the death of a passenger in one of the vehicles.

The intersections that will be getting traffic lights include:

Resler and Northern Pass
Pebble Hills and Sun Fire
Kenworthy and Sun Valley
Marcus Uribe and Sean Haggerty
Tierra Cortez and Tierra Este
Resler and Nardo Goodman
Alameda and Whittier
North Loop and Lafayette
Schuster and El Paso
Zaragoza and John Hayes
Pellicano and Michaelangelo
Northwestern and Helen of Troy

In addition to the installation of traffic lights, crews will repair curbs and sidewalks, as well as install ADA compliant ramps. It will take about 16 months to get most of the intersections signalized. The projects are scheduled to be completed by 2020.
