I'm a very lucky military mom - Ryan is stationed at Fort Bliss, so I get to see him all the time.  But there are a lot of service men and women who aren't lucky enough to be close to home, and with the holidays approaching, that means a lot of our military will be spending that special time of the year alone.  Let's do something to make their holidays a little brighter, shall we?

Today is Monday, and that means it's time to honor another Military Monday's recipient.  Today, we meet Alberto Alba.  He was nominated by his wife, and biggest cheerleader(!), Vianey.

Staff Sgt. Roberto Loeza was killed earlier this year in Afghanistan.  Yesterday, at Fort Bliss, an $8.2 million Soldier Activity Center was named after him.

I wrote a blog yesterday about why I chose to downplay my coverage of the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks in my newscasts.  Today, all the talk is about how NBC didn't cover the moment of silence held at the White House and in New York, but instead chose to concentrate on Kris Jenner's breasts.

Since yesterday was a day off for most of us, I thought I'd take some liberties with Military Monday's and do one today.  I know, I'm a rebel!

Working at 93.1 KISS FM is a lot of fun - we get to go to all our fun events for free, we get to have a blast on the air, and we get to wear pretty much whatever we want to to work.  But all that fun and games has a serious side as well, and tonight at Cool Canyon Nights, we get to give back to a soldier who has given so much to all of us.

El Paso and Fort Bliss got some exciting news today - The President of the United States is coming back to the Borderland.
