Mike’s the Stupid News: Report of a Baby Lion in Neighborhood Turns Out to Be a Dog Groomed to Look Like One

People in Norfolk, Virginia called 911 on Tuesday after seeing what they thought was "a baby lion" prowling around a neighborhood. Fortunately, the truth was more adorable than deadly.

It turned out to be a dog that had been groomed to look like a small lion. The tan Labrador-poodle mix belonged to a guy who went to Old Dominion University in Norfolk, and their mascot is the lion, so he had his dog groomed with a dyed mane and puffy lion tail.

The dog had wandered off into the street prompting the calls to 911. Here's a montage of some of those calls:
