I already know what you're going to tell me; "Joanna, don't be a huevona and make the tortillas yourself!"

Trust me, I know- nothing, and I mean nothing, compares to homemade tortillas. Making tortillas isn't hard, but it's definitely not my favorite thing to do. It's a labor of love and I definitely applaud those who make their own tortillas on a daily basis.

For the rest of us, luckily, El Paso is filled with a lot of great places where you can get some tasty tortillas. These days, the possibilities are endless; you can get flour, wheat, corn and blue corn tortillas at your earliest convenience!

If you're wondering where you should get some flour tortillas, I got you! Here are five of my favorite places to buy flour tortillas. Coincidentally, some of these are also some of my favorite places to get burritos.

These are perfect. Not chewy, perfectly round, not too thick and not too think. Best of all, they don't get all hard and crunchy after reheating them.

Vista Supermarkets

There is so much that I love about Vista Supermarkets; their aguas frescas, their hot and ready foods (like their brisket) and most of all, their flour tortillas! I have a Vista near my house and it's very convenient for when we run out of tortillas at the house!

Valentine's Bakery (On Yarbrough)

I know that there are two different Valentine's Bakeries, I only say the Yarbrough one specifically because it's the only I've been to, so no shade to the other one! These remind me of my abuelita's tortillas- somehow they just taste really hand-made! I also love that there's no fancy packaging, they just come in these Ziploc bags.

Taqueria La Pila/ Tortilleria Guadalajara

just look at this video! You can tell that their tortillas are made fresh everyday, and if you get them just in time, they're sometimes still warm when you buy them and then you can have a little snack in the car.

La Colonial Tortilla Factory

La Colonial is your one-stop place for all things tortillas; tostadas, masa, etc. Their tortillas taste fresh and are the perfect base for burritos, but make sure you get there early because they WILL run out!
