Viva! El Paso is back in 2021.

The outdoor extravaganza, which chronicles the 400-year history and cultural evolution of El Paso and the border region, was forced to go on hiatus last summer because of the pandemic, but beginning the first weekend in July it returns to the McKelligon Canyon Amphitheater where the Franklin Mountains provide a naturally beautiful backdrop for the summer production.

Beginning Friday, July 2, El Paso's rich history and cultural heritage will come to life through song and dance Fridays and Saturdays through August 7. As in recent years, the next to last Saturday show (July 31) will be performed in Spanish.

Tickets for the twelve-show run are now on sale at the Plaza Theatre Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, or online at ticketmaster.com.

The production has undergone a few tweaks over the years including a refreshed script, but while some changes have been made, the show's most popular songs and elements from its decades-long past remain in place.
