Train Derails In Central El Paso with No Injuries
Like a scene from a disaster movie, El Paso has just had a major emergency that ISN'T a highway pile up. As of 130pm, there has been a train derailment in Central El Paso near I10 East and Cotton.

There are no injuries reported and El Paso Fire also confirmed a HAZMAT Level II spill at the scene but claim there is no threat to the public.
Considering how populated the area is, it's a positive surprise that the derailment didn't injure anyone or destroy anything important. Though there is something about a train derailment that just feels so cinematic in the scariest way.
I saw the video on fitfam and immediately started thinking of disaster flicks like Super 8. Fingers crossed that the Level II HAZMAT spill doesn't make any of the crazy desert wildlife grow a million sizes too big like Eight Legged Freaks.
As of now though, aside from how scary it looks, there is no reason to be concerned. We're currently waiting for more information on the derailment and what caused the incident.
Believe it or not less than half of all train derailments, about 10%-38%, are caused by user error. More often than not, there is a myriad of other reasons as to what can cause a train to completely detail. Usually it's things like track defects or equipment failure that causes a full on derailment like this one.
Let's just be glad this train wasn't carrying secret government experiments or some kind of zombie serum. El Paso doesn't need that kind of publicity.
