I love classic movies, and one of my favorite classic movies is The Ten Commandments. It's one of those movies that I love to watch in real time, which is something I don't usually do if it's on regular tv. I usually DVR the movie and then fast forward through the commercials, but The Ten Commandments is one of those movies that I sit through front to back, commercials and all. I don't even pause the movie. I guess it's because that's the way I grew up watching The Ten Commandments - all the commercials, if you miss something because you're in the bathroom or getting a drink, then you miss it until next year.

The Ten Commandments, starring Charlton Heston, is, of course, the story of Moses. It begins with his birth, his time in the court of the Pharaoh, and his leading the Jews out of Egypt. It's a fantastic movie because it is so over the top with it's reverence and bad acting. Everyone seems to be so intent on being the most worshipful and it all translates into so hilarious moments, like the one in the clip above. It's my favorite scene with three women watching Moses close the Red Sea on the Pharaoh's soldiers. It's textbook 1950's overacting!

Some of my other favorite scenes in The Ten Commandments are all the times that the different characters say 'Oh, Moses, Moses'. It happens a lot, and some of my friends like to play a drinking game where they take a shot every time someone says 'Oh, Moses, Moses,' but they're heathens so I don't watch it with them.

Love this movie!
