Village Inn Near UTEP Back In Business After Closing For A Year

The Village Inn near UTEP is back in business and bustling breakfast faves after closing a little over a year ago.

Residents near Kern Place and downtown, medical staff at the nearby hospitals, and students get ready to get your Village Inn on as the location near UTEP has reopened.

Last May, the Village Inn located on N. Mesa near the Don Haskins Center closed temporarily due to a remodel. Local patrons thought the restaurant might be transitioning into a Butter Smith, like a couple of other Village Inns across the city.

However, that wasn't the case; the UTEP location was getting a subtle remodel and has finally reopened to the public.

Like many other restaurants, the pandemic didn't help, and neither has the supply chain and labor shortage issues, hence why the restaurant is only open for breakfast and lunch for the time being.

Before the pandemic, the Village Inn near UTEP was one of the hottest spots for a late-night bite after attending a show at the Don Haskins Center. However, since they are not open all day, fans must visit between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. to get their fix.

Last year, the local company that owns Village Inn restaurants started their new local brand, converting two local Village Inns into Butter Smith Kitchen & Pies.

While both franchises offer similar menu options and pies, Butter Smith provides alcoholic beverages, including the added feature of TVs across their dining room areas.
