UTEP Offering Summer Acting & Theatre Camps for Kids
The University of Texas at El Paso just announced its new summer sessions for acting and dance classes for children at beginning on June 5, 2017.
It’s never too early to start thinking ahead especially when it comes to planning out your child’s summer activities. The Department of Theatre and Dance at UTEP will be offering different classes such as creative dance, tap, jazz and ballet for children ages 4-18. The programs will focus on learning, dance concepts, creative expression, improvisation, along with developing social skills and coordination through ballet techniques and free movement.

Acting Camps
All students will learn the fundamentals of the performance process everything from technique and the rehearsal process and will conclude with a live performance for family and friends on the last day of the camp. These camps require a great deal of dedication, discipline and full attendance from all students.
Beginner:
- Ages 7-12, Monday - Friday, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. = $245
- Students are required to have a second grade reading and writing level.
Advanced:
- Ages 13-18, Monday - Friday, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. = $245
Dance Camps
Dance camps will focus on the appreciation, performance, and creation of dance. Daily classes will vary between different dance styles including ballet, contemporary, tap, and jazz. Students will create their own choreography as well and the course will conclude with a live performance for family and friends.
Young Dancers:
- Ages 7-12, Monday - Friday, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. = $245
Tiny Toes:
- Ages 4 - 6, Monday - Friday, 1p.m. - 4p.m. = $245
Classes will be conducted by a UTEP faculty member and/or UTEP Dance graduates and dance majors.
