The University of Texas at El Paso will offer a series of events related to preventing and addressing domestic violence during the month of October.

Four events will be offered to and open to the community as well as to the students, staff and faculty at UTEP.

Scheduled Events:

  • “The Mask You Live In” film will be shown at 3 p.m. Thursday, October 13th in the University Library’s Blumberg Auditorium. It will be followed by a peer-led discussion.
  •  “The Mask You Live In” film and discussion, Light the Night Purple workshop and fair, Paint UTEP Purple: Advocacy Fair, and a healthy relationships workshop which are designed to teach the campus community how to address or report domestic violence issues.
  • The UTEP Counseling Center will present the Smart Love: Healthy Relationships 101 workshop at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 19th to offer the campus community practical tips to have healthy relationships. The workshop will be held in Union Building East, Elkins Room 314.m 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • The “Paint UTEP Purple” advocacy fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, October 20th in the Union Plaza with an encore event at Miner Village called “Light the Night Purple” from 6-8 p.m.
