This New Alphabet Song Will Drive You Crazy
Sometimes it's best to leave well enough alone. No one wants carob chip cookies, they want chocolate chip cookies. Impossible meat burgers? Sorry, give me a cow on a bun or give me death. And don't even get me started on the original Lion King versus that "live action remake" mess they tried to throw at us earlier this year.
If things that have been fantastic for generations, why do people mess with them? Some group of ninnies changed the Alphabet Song that has been around since the 1800s for heaven's sake, and completely ripped a whole in everyone's childhood. Apparently, Dream English, a website that tries to "make educational music that is not only filled with important phrases and grammar, but is enjoyable to listen to", decided that L-M-N-O-P sung like 'elemenohpee' was oh-so-wrong and they changed the song so that every letter was individually sung.
They should have named their website Dream On.
Trust me, this is not going to go anywhere. It's a rite of passage to sing 'elemenohpee' at the top of your lungs. It's like trying to change 'Five golden reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeengs' in the 12 Days of Christmas. It'll never happen.
And don't get any bright ideas about trying to change the 12 Days of Christmas. Santa will put you on his naughty list forever.
