The El Paso Community: The Film Salon will begin monthly screenings at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Montecillo on July 2, 2016 with a screening of the 1948 Academy Award winning film, The Treasure of Sierra Madre.

The Film Salon is a monthly screening series devoted to the celebration of classic and important films and which previously met monthly at Trinity-First United Methodist Church since May of 2002.  For more than 14 years The Film Salon has presented screening programs with introductory remarks and post-screening discussions.  Begun in 2002 by Charles Horak, The Film Salon has cultivated a discerning audience of cinephiles and those looking to expand their awareness of cinema history.  Horak will continue to curate The Film Salon’s programs and provide commentary before and after each film.

The Film Salon will meet on the first Saturday of each month at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Montecillo located at 250 E Montecillo Blvd, El Paso, TX 79912. Tickets for all screenings will be $3 and can be purchased at Drafthouse.com/El-Paso.

  • July 2 – The Treasure of the Sierra Madre at 7 p.m.
  • August 6 – The African Queen at 7 p.m.
  • September 3 – Key Largo at 7 p.m.
