Temporary Lane Closure of Airway Blvd Coming This Week

A new public art piece installation will temporary close a lane of Airway Blvd beginning Tuesday, September 4, 2018.

Airway Blvd. near the El Paso International Airport will close one northbound lane between Boeing Dr. and Convair Rd. nightly to allow the installation of a new art piece between 7 p.m. and 4 a.m.

The new lighted art installation piece by artist Bill FitzGibbons called “El Paso Passage”, will be a located beneath the overpass. The $205,000 art piece is funded the Airport Enterprise Fund and is part of the Terminal Landscape Architectural Lighting project.

Make sure you follow detours and avoid the area for the rest of the upcoming week beginning on Tuesday, September 4 through Thursday, September 6, 2018.
