We all have a macabre fascination with serial killers, not so much because we aspire to be them, but because humans are hardwired to want all the hot tea when it comes to tragedies, even when it scares the crap out of us! Let's explore a few of the most famous murderers from the great state of Texas!

We will start with Richard Ramirez also known as the Night Stalker. Richard Ramirez starts our list because he was actually BORN right here in El Paso. After a short but traumatic life growing up in Texas, Richard learned military skills from a cousin and left to live in California. From there, Ramirez employed the tactical skills he learned to commit his crimes. Once finally caught, Ramirez was found guilty of 13 counts of murder as well as a slew of other horrendous crimes and was given 19 life sentences.

Resendiz was born in Mexico and got his nickname by riding the rails across most of the US, Mexico, and even parts of Canada. Although his murders spread across the US, Resendiz was eventually caught in Texas and was suspected in 23 murders total. Resendiz was charged and sentenced to death in 2006.

Jones was born and lived in Texas but was only TECHNICALLY convicted of 2 deaths. Unfortunately, Jones was a licensed nurse working in a pediatric ICU, meaning those 2 deaths were children. The records of Jones' involvement in more murders was covered up by the hospitals she worked for to stop any litigation from happening due to her actions. However, Jones had a track record while working in her hospitals that saw almost 60 children and infants die under her direct care. The exact number of victims remains unknown and is potentially much higher than anyone knows.

Henry Lee Lucas AKA The Confession Killer

Lucas earned his name by confessing to almost 600 murders after he was captured for the killing of his mother. He was eventually convicted of only 3 deaths and sentenced to the death penalty. The main reason that Lucas lives in infamy on this list is because it wasnt found out until later, after extensive investigation, that he had lied in order to receive food, treats, and other accommodations for each confession. Lucas single handedly ruined the reputation of the Texas Rangers and wound after a thorough investigation by The Attorney General of Texas, it was found that it would have been impossible for him to commit all the murders that hed confessed to. Lucas was sentenced to death in Huntsville, Texas.

Corll's case is one that should terrify people a bit. Corll was responsible for the murder of AT LEAST 28 boys and young men but that isn't the scariest part of this situation. Corll was named the Candy Man because his family owned a Texas candy company. He was aided by two teenage accomplices, one of whom eventually shot Corll before confessing to the murders they committed and taking investigators to the remains of each body. Unfortunately, investigators stopped the search for bodies after enough of the murders had been confirmed, but the scary part is that Corll’s accomplices confessed to more murders than the initial 28. Prosecutors refused to keep searching for bodies and this was considered one of the most heinous cases of serial murder in the country.
