Take The Family Camping At Memorial Park In Central El Paso
Camping is a lot of fun, but it's more fun when you can do it close to home in case you forget something! The City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department is hosting two campouts this summer, and they're going to be in one of the prettiest parks in El Paso.
The first Family Outdoor Campouts will be this weekend starting at 4 o'clock Friday afternoon, and will go through Saturday morning at 10 a.m. The camps will be at Memorial Park (Reserve Area), at 1701 N. Copia St. You and the kiddoes will be able to swimming at the Memorial Aquatic Center, catch a late night movie, and enjoy being in a park that you'll never guess is in the middle of the city!
The cost is $5 per child (17 years of age and younger) and $10 per adult (18 years of age and older). Registration will stay open until all the spots are filled. You'll have to bring your own tents, food, drinks, but no alcohol will be allowed, and camping supplies. Gas grills will be allowed, and camp spaces in the park will be on a first come – first served basis. You can start setting up at 4 o'clock Friday afternoon.
Registration online at elpasotexas.gov/parks or at any Recreation Center. There is no minimum age for kids, but all kids must be supervised by an adult at all times.
The second summer campout will be Friday, July 18, and the same rules and regulations apply.
