Sun Metro Detours Two Routes and Offers Late-Night Service For Street Fest
Sun Metro will be providing late-night bus service from the Glory Road Transfer during the El Paso Downtown Street on Friday, June 28 AND Saturday, June 29th.
Four streets will be closed off to traffic for the festival. These streets are Santa Fe between San Antonio and Franklin; Main between Santa Fe and Oregon: and Sheldon Court between Santa Fe and Mills.
Routes 4 and 9 will be required to detour around the festival beginning at 6 a.m. Thursday, June 27, through 1 p.m. Sunday, June 30.
Drivers will make courtesy stops along the detoured routes when it is safely feasible.
Attendees looking to enjoy the annual festival and avoid parking in the Downtown area can carpool and park at the Glory Road Parking Garage, 100 E. Glory Road and board Sun Metro’s Route 204. Buses will be running every 30 minutes beginning at 8 p.m. until 1:30 a.m.
Sun Metro bus fare is $1.50 per trip, per person. RIDERS ARE REMINDED TO HAVE EXACT CHANGE FOR ALL SUN METRO FARE BOXES. While the fare box can issue change cards, drivers do not have access to currency.
Route 204 buses will drop off passengers on the corner of Oregon and Missouri, on the west side of the street; and pick up passengers heading back home on Oregon and Missouri, on the east side of the street. The festival entrance is approximately two blocks away on Franklin at Santa Fe.
Parking at the Glory Road Transfer Center is $1 for the first hour and $1 for every additional hour, with the maximum parking fee of $10.
Route 4 Detour
Buses traveling outbound, leaving the Union Plaza Transit Terminal will turn right onto San Antonio, right onto Santa Fe returning to the regular route.
Buses traveling inbound, west on Missouri will turn left onto Oregon, right onto Paisano, right onto Anthony returning to the regular route.
Route 9 Detour
Buses traveling outbound, north on El Paso will turn left onto Paisano, right onto Overland entering the Union Plaza Transit Terminal and returning to the regular route.
