El Paso native and former Voice contestant Valerie Ponzio is one of the performers the State Line has lined up for their free music series this year.

Every Wednesday night through the end of summer, the State Line restaurant is putting on an outdoor concert featuring local, regional, and nationally known bands and musicians. This year, the free music series runs from April 12 through August 23.

Andress High School graduate Valerie Ponzio, a contestant on this season's NBC reality  show The Voice, is among the entertainers on the live music menu this summer. Valerie, who was eliminated during the show's battle rounds, is scheduled to perform July 19.


A concert by Fungi Mungle, one of El Paso’s favorite dance bands, is another highlight of this year's scheduled performers. The band that put the fun in funk and the oogie in boogie will get down, get down in August.

Other hometown favorites on the 2017 band line up include Radio La Chusma, Joe Barron Band, Sorry About Your Sister, and Chuco Soul Project.

The 21 and older shows are held on the restaurant’s open-air patio and are free, but attendees are asked to make a monetary donation or bring non-perishable food items for El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank.

All concerts are from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at The State Line Restaurant, located at 1222 Sunland Park Drive.
