Starbucks announced that they will be giving COVID-19 frontline workers in the medical, first responder, and military fields a tall, brewed coffee free of charge throughout the month of December.

This is a small gesture that I’m sure is greatly appreciated for all of those people who are actively working with COVID patients on a regular basis.  Coffee may not seem like much, but anybody who has not been able to have their daily cup (or cups) of caffeine can attest that it can set a bad tone for the day.

So many people have shown how selfless and committed to treating others during this pandemic.  The fact that they do so at an increased risk to their personal safety as well as that of their family and loved ones needs to be recognized in whatever way possible.  With the COVID numbers in El Paso high enough to make the national news, the workload, stress, and overall danger medical field workers are facing is intensified.

Pandemic frontline workers include the following:

  • Doctors
  • Nurses
  • Hospital Staff
  • Public Health Workers
  • Pharmacists
  • Dispatchers
  • Firefighters
  • Paramedics
  • Police Officers
  • Dentists
  • Dental Hygienists
  • Mental Health Workers
  • Active-Duty Military

Frontline workers just need to let Starbuck’s staff know they are COVID responders and they will have their choice of a tall hot or iced brewed coffee through December 31.
