Socorro ISD Offering Free Kindergarten Beginning This Fall
If you live in the Socorro Independent School District, you can now enroll your little ones in free kindergarten. The district announced that they will be offering free half-day universal pre-kindergarten for all students even if they do not meet state requirements for free pre-k.
Kids have to be four years old by September 1 and live within SISD boundaries. Full-day pre-k enrollment is based on a first-come, first-served basis. The full-day program is free for those who qualify based on economic, language, homeless or active duty military state requirements.
If your kids don't qualify for free pre-k, but you would like to enroll them in full-day you can take advantage of free half-day and tuition-based for the other half. The tuition for half-day is $181.68 per month for a 10-month school year.
You can register your child, you'll need to take these documents and your child to the district:

Identification for the parent/guardian registering the child (driver's license, ID card, passport, military ID)
