SISD Invites Fathers & Sons To “Build Ties” At Their 12th Annual Father-Son Conference
As a single mom who is raising a little man, I know that there is nothing more important than the bond between my son and his dad and grandpa’s.
My son is a momma’s boy, but there’s things this momma just doesn't understand when it comes to dude things and that’s where dad and grandpa come in.
The Socorro Independent School District understands that the bond between a young man and their father or an older male figure is important too so they are excited to bring back their Annual "Building Ties" Father-Son Conference.
This will be the 12th year that the district puts together this conference that is free and open to 6th through 12th grade students that are in the SISD district.
This year’s conference will take place at Socorros High School on Saturday September 23, 2023.
The conference is a way for students to bond with their dad or any father figure in their life through activities and other fun projects.
Mentor’s will also be available for student’s who may not have a father figure in their life.
This years conference will feature keynote speaker, Dr. William Serrata. Free breakfast and lunch will be provided and those who register in advance will get a free t-shirt.
This year’s conference will feature a car show that students and father’s can enjoy and they can also join in as a judge to see what cars are the best in show!
District officials encourage parents to pre-register for the conference, but walk-ins will also be accepted the day of the conference.
