Khalid has been making quite the name for himself in the music world.

In addition to his numerous TV appearances this year, in just the last few months the critically acclaimed R&B singer from El Paso won the MTV VMA for Best New Artist, was featured on the cover of Billboard magazine’s 2018 Grammy Preview issue, was named one of TIME magazine's 30 most influential teens of 2017, and his debut single went over the one million mark in sales.

Recently, Khalid's music hit another milestone that had the 19 year-old freaking out.

His album American Teen surpassed sales of over 1 million, making the Americas High grad's debut a certified Platinum disc. What makes this achievement all that more special is that it went platinum without any features, meaning Khalid's debut went platinum without a single collaborator on any of his songs, placing him in a pool with artists like Ed Sheeran and J. Cole.

An understandably jacked Khalid posted an Instagram message thanking fans "for EVERYTHING" and professing his undying love to them.

Khalid's latest accomplishment also meant he got to pose with a big ass record company plaque in commemoration of his achievement.

The plaque was extra big because his latest single Young Dumb & Broke also went platinum, and on top of that, the first single, Location, which went Platinum in May, reached 3x-platinum status with sales of over 3 million.
