Watch Khalid's MTV VMA Performances

First things first: congrats and mad love to Khalid on winning the MTV VMA for Best New Artist.

Khalid beat out Julia Michaels, Noah Cyrus, Kodak Black, and SZA in the fan-voted category and joined the ranks of Best New Artist winners including Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, One Direction, and Maroon 5.

It’s a well-deserved honor for the 19-year-old Americas High graduate whose career has been steadily building to this point since the beginning of the year.

Prior to accepting the prestigious award, the singer-songwriter who calls El Paso home performed on the show twice; once on the pre-show, and with Logic during the awards show.
