Spring cleaning is probably in full force for most of us. Especially parents who are clearing out their children’s closets and getting rid of clothes that their children no longer fit into.

Well, if you’re doing some Spring cleaning and you find yourself left with a lot of clothes that are still in good condition then why not consider re-selling them to make some extra cash to buy your kids some new clothes!

Lucia Esparza and her twin sister Luisa Bowcutt are moms to three kids and they both also work full-time in the healthcare field but this spring break they will be adding a new title to that list; Owners of Rhea Lana’s west El Paso.

“We first consigned in Las Cruces and we fell in love with the concept,” said Lucia. "I brought my sister, Luisa, with me since we both have three children and we had a lot of stuff so we were consigning and we really fell in love with the concept."

It was after witnessing the consigning experience first-hand that the sister’s decided this was something they wanted to bring to El Paso.

“We loved it so much,” said Lucia. “It’s fun, it makes sense, it helps growing families reduce costs, and it also helps the environment.”

Rhea Lana’s is a clothing pop-up consignment sale with over 150 franchises nationwide.

This Spring break the sisters will be bringing the first Rhea Lana’s children consignment event to The Outlet Shoppes at El Paso.

The semi-annual event allows families the opportunity to sign up online as a consigner to sell their gently used items at an in-store pop-up event. This event differs from other children’s resale stores because the seller is in charge of setting their own price for the items they sell.

“We set up the store for a week and they input their information online and set their own prices on the items they are selling,” explained Lucia. “We get to sell it for them and we do our best to prepare the store and showcase their items so they can get those sales. We want everyone to sell as much as they can.”

Items that can be sold range from clothing to furniture to electronics.

If sellers don’t sell all of their items they have a chance to give back to those in need in our community.

“If the clothes don't sell then the consigner is able to decide if they want to donate it and we partner up with foster families in the community,” said Luisa. “We invite the foster families to come and shop for free and we also are teaming up with a pregnancy center to allow moms to shop for free as well.”

Families are invited to shop at the first pop-up event this spring break week at the Outlet Shoppes at El Paso beginning March 16th at 3 p.m. until March 22nd.

Shoppers can also buy tickets online for early access on March 16th. These tickets will allow shoppers to enter the store before 3 p.m.

Moms-to-be, military, and health care workers will also get first access into the door, and after 3 p.m. the doors will open to the general public.

Both sisters are proud to bring this new experience to El Paso families and they are looking forward to their next pop-up event which will happen sometime this Fall.

“It’s a good way for El Paso families to save and that’s the important thing about consigning,” said Lucia. “It helps you save money.”

People who would like to register to sell their items can do so until March 11th. Click Here for more details on how to register and also for event details.
