Relocation of Sunland Park East Exit to Require 27-Hour Closure of I-10 East This Sunday
The new Sunland Park eastbound exit ramp is almost ready for its official debut.
Crews will be closing the existing eastbound exit ramp for good and opening the new permanent eastbound exit ramp this weekend, but to do so will require a 27-hour closure of a portion of I-10.
Starting at 3 a.m. Sunday, February 17, I-10 Eastbound will close completely between North Mesa and the Sunland Park overpass until 6 a.m. Monday.
Travelers on I-10 Eastbound will be forced to exit at North Mesa, follow North Mesa Street to Doniphan Drive, then follow Doniphan to Sunland Park Drive. You will be able to re-enter I-10 East at the Sunland Park entrance ramp.
Beginning Monday, Feb. 18, the new and permanent Sunland Park exit ramp will be accessible from I-10 east prior to reaching Resler, as shown in the illustration below.
Old Exit vs. New Exit Map
Failure to notice the new overhead exit signs once the change is in place will result in you zooming past Sunland Park Drive and having to double back at the Executive Center exit.
Along with the 27-hour closure of I-10 Eastbound, the North Mesa entrance ramp to I-10 Eastbound and the Resler flyover entrance ramp to I-10 Eastbound will close.
