There’s Still Time to Recycle Your Christmas Tree at These El Paso Citizen Collection Station Locations
🎵 O' Christmas tree, O' Christmas tree. It's time to be recycled 🎵
Maybe you were waiting until after the Feast of the Epiphany on January 6 to kick your live Christmas tree to the curb, or maybe you needed a bit of a breather first before dealing with it.
Perhaps you're simply finding it hard to let the holidays go. Who can blame you? The holidays are magical.
Whatever valid reason you have for why that dried up Fir or Pine is still sitting in your home dropping needles is, know that the City of El Paso Environmental Services Department sees you and they get it.
And when you’re ready to finally let it go, you can treecycle for free through February 11.
No I.D. or recent water bill is needed to recycle “real” Christmas trees. However, there is one condition: all decorative items such as ornaments, lights, frost, tinsel, etc. must be removed
Give the Tree Back to the Earth
Your tree will be given another life as mulch, which you can use in your garden or yard – also at no cost.
Oh, and if you want to take them up on the free mulch offer, whether you dropped off a live tree or not, take a trash bag or container with you. Mulch is free to the general public on a year-round basis.
