El Pasoans with water-loving canines who want to take the family to the spray park don't have to leave them behind when seeking relief from the hot El Paso days.

There's a city spray park where your pooch can have a water paw-ty too. The Pavo Real Enhanced Spray Park at 9301 Alameda is home to El Paso's only spray pad for dogs.

Unlike the other city spray parks which do not allow pets in the spray pad area, the Pavo Real Enhanced Spray Park encourages man's best friend to splash around and frolic with other water-loving dogs.

The Lower Valley spray park is actually two spray pads; one for humans, and another fenced in dog area specifically designed for their furry companions.

No water buckets and fountains here, just cooling water jets the gently shoot water out of the ground, including one that looks like a fire hydrant. Next door is a 4,500-square-foot spray park for kids with 25 water features, such as a large dump bucket, two large slides, water cannons, hanging spouts, and fountains that spurt water up from the ground.

And don't worry about getting any kind of dog cooties; separate water filtration systems keep water from the two splash pads from mixing.
