P.O.D. to Rock Sun Bowl Game Half-Time
Thanks to a new partnership with Ysleta del Sur, football fans will be rocking out at this year's Sun Bowl game.
P.O.D., best known for their 2001 rock radio hits Youth of the Nation and Alive, will perform at half-time -- the first national act to do so since Country superstars Lone Star did at the 2014 Sun Bowl game. "Having Yselta del Sur Pueblo (Speaking Rock) as a sponsor allows us to bring back a featured artist for halftime entertainment,” said Sun Bowl Association Executive Director Bernie Olivas in a recent press release.
Because of a previous lack of funding, the competing school’s bands took the field at last year's game. Las Cruces singer Frank Ray, and two borderland The Voice participants did the honors in 2017 and 2016.
The 86th annual Sun Bowl game will feature the Arizona State Sun Devils against the Florida State Seminoles on Tuesday, Dec. 31 at noon. ASU was last here in 2017. The last time FSU played in El Paso was over 50 years ago in 1966.
If you plan on going, get your tickets sooner than later. The stadium is currently undergoing a renovation and is under construction resulting in approximately 7,000 fewer available seats.
