We've endured several years of closures and detours in west El Paso, and as the Go 10 project nears its end (yasss!), they will become more frequent as crews put the finishing touches on the infrastructure reconstruction.

Such has been the case in February with 27-hour closures on back to back weekends around the Sunland Park Drive area.

This Sunday, the day-long closures move up the road to North Mesa and a third straight 27-hour closure is needed so that crews can complete work on a section of North Mesa that runs underneath the overpass.

As a result, North Mesa will be closed to traffic in both directions between Osborne and Remcon Circle from 3 a.m. Sunday, Mar. 3 to 6 a.m. Monday, Mar. 4.

Beginning Monday, Mar. 4, lanes on North Mesa between Osborne and Remcon will be in their final configuration and driveways to nearby businesses will be restored.

Along with the aforementioned closure:

• All exit ramps and entrance ramps at the I-10/North Mesa interchange will close.
• South Desert Boulevard will close at McClintock Street.

I'm sure by now you know the drill; leave earlier than usual, use an alternate route, blah, blah, blah, yada, yada, yada.
