Famed Noodle Man Bringing Thai Food Pop-Up To El Paso

The Noodle Man is bringing his popular Thai food pop-up to El Paso this week.

Dream Kasestatad, aka The Noodle Man, is the chef and owner of Pranom Pop-Up, a traveling Thai street food pop-up. The chef who grew up around his parent's Thai restaurant has gained notoriety after being featured on the cover for Eater and LA Weekly magazine's food section.

Since, The Noodle Man has been a featured guest chef for several festivals, including SXSW, Beal Street Festival, movie premieres, TV shows, and his pop-ups have also taken over boutique hotels, breweries, bars, and restaurants all over the country.

The book "Los Angeles Street Food: (American Palate)" also featured Dream’s Khao Soi dish on its cover alongside Roy Choi’s Kogi Truck. In addition, he was the featured chef for the Deep Blues Festival 2018 in Clarksdale, Mississippi, and was invited by Morgan Freeman to pop-up at Mr. Freeman’s famed blues club and restaurant, Ground Zero.

The Noodle Man also has a pilot show based on his real-life, titled "The Noodle Man," streaming on Amazon Prime.  In addition, Dream is filming a food documentary feature film in New Orleans and developing a restaurant travel television series with the Emmy-award-winning studio, Litton Entertainment, and Hearst Media.

El Pasoans can get a taste of what the buzz is all about tomorrow when The Noodle Man sets up shop at Old Sheepdog Brewery in Central El Paso for one day only.

The Noodle Man, along with Gus, owner of Old Sheepdog Brewery, sat down to share details about the event.

Dream will be cooking in-house and will be keeping the menu super simple, mainly because he is a one-person multi-tasker from prepping to cooking the food. As a result, the menu will feature only two options: Pad See Ew (regular) and a vegan version that will pair well with any of the available craft brews featuring a unique "The Noodle Man" special edition beer label at Old Sheepdog Brewery.

The afternoon will also include treats by Bellarose Sweets, coffee from SlowGoblin, and coincides with Salsa Bachata, an evening featuring DJ Louie.

This Cinco de Mayo, keep it interesting by celebrating with a local brew, unique eats, and treats while learning some sweet dance moves.
