Be A CITIZEN SCIENTIST for NASA During The Eclipse at EPCC
Monday April 8th is The Solar Eclipse and people are excited, but they have lots of questions about when they can see the eclipse here in Texas! Well KISS FM has you covered!
El Paso Community College is ready with the information you need! On Friday, April 5th, Physics District Wide Coordinator as well as Physics and Astronomy Associate Professor, Dr. Olienka De La O Fernandez was in the studio during Iris & Grizz in The Morning!
Dr. Fernandez broke down eclipse day to let us know EXACTLY what to expect! Not only that, but Dr. Fernandez also spoke to us about a very special event happening during the eclipse at EPCC where you can view the solar spectacle with Dr. Fernandez and become a citizen scientist for NASA!
The event will include a talk from INAH-Mexico, speakers from Texas Tech, a NASA Live-feed, and a full viewing with free glasses AND telescopes!! All this will be happening at the Mission del Paso Campus and it'll be an absolute thrill!
Not only do you have the chance to take in the eclipse with professionals who know whats going on, you get to be part of an official NASA study! Dr. Fernandez informed us that all of the observation happening on Monday will be reported directly back to NASA for their official records on Eclipses. This means that if you show up at the event during the eclipse, you can help EPCC gather crucial information that will be reported right back to NASA themselves!
Observing the eclipse is pretty awesome, but its even cooler when you have the right tools to see it...and its even cooler than that when you know you get to be a part of an official NASA study!!
Bring the family, the kids, your friends, bring everyone to EPCC on Monday to get an eclipse experience you will not forget!
