Mrs. Landingham Died

Kathryn Joosten, the actress who played one of the most memorable characters on my favorite tv show of all time, 'The West Wing', passed away this weekend.

She played Delores Landingham, the longtime secretary to Martin Sheen's President Bartlett.  She was in so many memorable scenes and such an amazing addition to the cast that when her character was killed off in season 2, a California Assemblyman even talked about it on the floor of the state house!

In this scene, President Bartlett talks to Mrs. Landingham's ghost and the dialogue is priceless.  Bartlett's MS had just become public knowledge, he had to decide if he was going to run for a second term, and he had just lost Mrs. Landingham.  Yes, I was VERY invested in this series!

Rest in peace Kathryn Joosten - thanks so much for being such a wonderful actress and bringing such a wonderful character to life....
