Just as the country struggles to get back on its feet by getting the COVID-19 vaccine in people's arms, a company that manufactures a lot of the paper products you know and love decided to flush all our hopes and dreams down the toilet. Remember standing in line for toilet paper and being restricted to buying just one package at a time due to shortages during the beginning of the pandemic? We might see that happen again by summer because prices are set to go up.

Kimberly Clark, the makers of products like Huggies, Kleenex, Scott, Cottonelle, Poise, Depend, Pull-Ups, and GoodNites crop dusted us this morning with a short press release that basically said, we're gonna charge you more when you poop. From the Kimberly Clark website:

"Nearly all of the increases will be effective in late June and impact the company's baby and child care, adult care and Scott bathroom tissue businesses."

The increase isn't going to be huge, but it will make a splash in your family's budget. The company says it will be in the mid to high single digits, so it could be as much as 9%. As we know from the last year, people get crazy about their toilet paper so be ready. There's nothing worse than getting caught with your pants down so maybe it's time to stock up a bit but don't get crazy and wipe the shelves clean. Leave a couple of squares for the rest of us.
