In honor of MLK, Amistad’s VISTA Program will be hosting a Drive-thru Food Distribution in partnership with El Pasoans Fighting Hunger this Monday, January 18, 2021.

For the past week, as part of the AmeriCorps National MLK Day of Service, Amistad has been accepting non-perishable food items to help put food on the table for struggling El Paso families.

As the pandemic lingers, Amistad encourages the community to help El Paso families who are currently food insecure as they continue to face economic hardships.

According to Amistad, the response over the past week has been great, with generous donations pouring in from the community members and Food City, Walmart, Sprouts, Target, and the EPCC Recovery Care Program.

Plans to distribute the food are set for MLK Day, Monday, January 18, 2021.

El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank will also be teaming up with Amistad to provide additional food supply to reach more families in need.

As part of MLK Day of Service, all El Pasoans are invited to get involved in the COVID-19 relief food drive by donating or volunteering their time.

  • Monetary Donations with all proceeds going towards the purchase of food for distribution. To donate, visit www.projectamistad.org/donate.
  • Volunteers are needed to distribute donations on January 18. For more information, call 915-298-1104.
