In the wake of Prince’s passing, the Minnesota Twins are honoring the music star by turning Target Filed purple.

As the news broke this morning that Prince had passed, everyone immediately took to Twitter to express themselves as did the Minnesota Twins.

Prince Rogers Nelson and was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota and naturally the Twins were big fans of his and thus decided to honor him by lighting up the stadium in purple and also posting an image of their Jumbotron that read, “Good Night Sweet Prince.” The team is also considering having a Prince Night to honor the singer at their next home game.

Rumors that Prince had passed began early Thursday morning when police were called out to his estate in Chanhassen, Minnesota were the superstar was found unresponsive in an elevator at his Paisley Park studios.  Confirmation soon came in from his publicist confirming that the iconic performer had indeed passed away.
